托瑪斯．埃羅伊．馬汀尼茲（Tomas Eloy Martinez） 1934出生於阿根廷，是一位新聞工作者、教授和得獎小說家，在阿根廷高壓統治時避居委內瑞拉，1982年起在美國工作與居住。他是當今拉丁美洲文學兩部經典名著《裴隆小說》（La novela de Peron, 1985）和《聖艾薇塔》（Santa Evita, 1995）的作者，該作品已被譯成三十六種語言，於七十多個國家發行。2002年，馬汀尼茲的作品El vuelo de la reina在西班牙馬德里獲得Alfaguara Prize。他的上一本小說Santa Evita曾獲2005國際曼布克獎提名。 目前定居美國，任教於紐澤西州的羅格斯大學，擔任該校拉丁美洲研究課程主任。
